Yo, 8th Grader!
Are you in eighth grade? Looking to select your courses for your first year at Mount Pleasant High School?
Consider the Radio Journalism pathway, where we train you to do music, news and sports on the district radio station, WMPH!
Talk with your school counselor about taking "Radio".
You'll be glad you did. :)
Some Recent WMPH History
WMPH-FM first signed on as a 10-watt FM in January of 1974, and has been growing ever since! Now we are 100-watts strong playing a mix of WMPH Music, NPR News, and High School Sports. Because we are a REAL 24-hour-a-day broadcaster, if you live anywhere around the Wilmington area and New Castle County (north of the canal), you can tune us in at 91.7 FM anytime day or night. If you are one of our far-away fans, know that you can tune in right now right here on the web! And the SIMPLE RADIO app works on any smartphone. Please tell your friends.
WMPH has always supported locally made music - including bands and singer-songwriters from around the listenening area! Check us out on the FM dial or on the streaming, then feel free to write, call or stop by the WMPH studios and let us know what you think!
Click the email link below to arrange a tour, then stop by our studios, meet Mr. Wishengrad and then get involved via Radio Classes, club, summer camp, sports, or an internship.
Please share this web site with 8th graders, have them click "Yo, 8th Grader!" button (upper left).
Thanks for visiting, and thanks for listening to us on the radio!
